Per Erez is the director of First Person Healing Arts, a private yoga therapy studio. He brings to his practice a background in yoga teacher education having directed yoga teacher training programs locally at Eight Limbs Yoga Center, supported, consulted with or staffed teacher trainings at Global Yoga Center, Kripalu Yoga Center for Yoga & Health, and The Kaivalyadhama Ashram of India. His approach to teaching yoga over twenty years has been influenced by Kripalu, Integrative Yoga Therapy, and numerous teachers’ within the Krishnamacharya lineage. Per’s teaching background is rich with diversity, including work in traditional yoga centers, corporations, health clubs, hospitals and social service agencies throughout Chicago. In addition to over 2000 hours of study in Yoga and the therapeutic application of its techniques, Per is also a certified Tai Chi and Nosara Pranassage Practitioner- a yoga based healing modality akin to Thai yoga therapy. Per’s work has been documented locally on the WGN Chicago channel 9 News as well as the Oprah show.
He had the pleasure of working with Ms. Winfrey as her private yoga instructor while on vacation. Per is an E-RYT 500 member of the National Yoga Alliance, a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapist, and the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association. A photographic installation at the United Nations building in New York City included photos of Per in 2000 and he has traveled yearly to Mexico on personal vacation and spiritual retreat for the last 15 years.
